Marching into Amelia Island

home organization Miranda Ferreira February 7, 2025

Welcome March:

Relax, Recharge, and Celebrate All That Is Spring in Fernandina Beach & Amelia Island

March is here, bringing sunshine, good vibes, and every reason to kick back and soak in the spring vibes—except for the pollen (brace yourself, it’s coming in full force!). Whether you’re living the island life or just visiting Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, this month is all about the start of spring & making some fun memories. Let’s get into the March mood!

Tips for Spring Cleaning

We all know that, as the open window weather rolls in, so does the urge to begin the dreaded (or highly anticipated) spring cleaning. Besides the obvious hot spots, below are areas that are sometimes "overlooked".

  1. Light fixtures: Use a microfiber cloth and gentle cleaning solution to dust and clean fixtures, ceiling fans and air vents. (Try vacuuming the air vent to help get the larger dust bunnies first.)
  2. Window tracts & sills: Use a toothbrush to small brush to clean out debris and dust that accumulates. Use a gentle cleaning solutions and microfiber cloth for the window sills.
  3. Refrigerator coils: If left dirty, these can increase energy bills and reduce the lifespan of your appliance. Use a vacuum cleaner or brush to clean.
  4. Cords and Cables: Use cable organizers commercially made or zip ties to help keep cords tidy and prevent tangles. It also helps with managing storage.
  5. Range hood: Use a degreaser and microfiber cloth to clean your range hood, including the filters and the exterior. Make sure to consult the product information guides for more specific recommendations.

Get Outside To Enjoy the Cool Air

  1. Outdoor Adventures: Stroll the soft sands of Amelia Island’s beaches or get your nature fix at Fort Clinch State Park. Your mind will thank you!
  2. Mindfulness at Home: Bring in the good vibes with some indoor greenery. Snake plants or peace lilies will refresh the air and the mood.
  3. St. Patrick’s Day Chill: Why not treat yourself to an Irish-inspired self-care day or hit up a spa? The luck of the Irish is in the self-love!
  4. Classic Motorsports Amelia Kickoff: Starting at noon at Main Beach, tour some of the classic cars from the area. Admission is free for spectators.
  5. Concours d'Elegance: Enjoy looking at the most elegant cars throughout the automotive history. Don't forget to check out the "lemons" before entering the main event. It is a ticketed event and parking is limited.
  6. Second Saturday Art Walk: Starting at 5 pm, tour exhibits from local artists at 18 North 2nd Street downtown.

Closing Message:

As we enter into this new season, I am most excited about getting outdoors more in our amazing community. Baseball is in full swing, so feel free to catch a game down at the ballpark on Atlantic or in Yulee. The weather may still have a chilly day or two (with Easter being notorious for the "last cold snap"). The real estate market is gearing up, with a number of new listings hitting the market daily. Be sure to enjoy the beach as well - for there have been some AMAZING sunrises lately. And don't forget to be patient at the car wash (wink, wink)
